Board of Forestry Meets in Tillamook, Oregon
The Board of Forestry made a two-day visit to the Tillamook area, starting with a tour of lands owned by Ecotrust Forests, and ending with a day long meeting on the 6th in the ODF offices in Tillamook.

There were no major actions at the Board meeting, though Board Member Hutchison did offer a clarification of the eight issues that he would like addressed before any final decision is made on the management of the state forests.  The staff response to eight issues will be come in January.

In a rare event, the Board moved rapidly through their agenda for the day, so some of the public did not get to offer public testimony.  The Steelheaders did provide testimony on the decline of the wild steelhead run in the Salmonberry canyon.  Dozens of Sierra Club members also contacted the Board via email.

ODF also approved the creation of a Public Advisory Committee to discuss if and how the law governing state lands should be revised.  This press release outlines the Public Advisory Committee's charge, composition, and meeting dates.

The next major decision point for the Board is January 6 in Salem.
